You Ask We Nurture (YAWN)
Connect Child & Family Services Inc
Behaviour
Parents, Grandparents, Mothers, Fathers
YAWN began as pilot project in 2011 as a service of Connect and this year the project has grown with seven volunteers offering support to families.

This unique service is offering tired Blue Mountains parents companionship and practical help. YAWN sends trained volunteers to partner with sleep deprived families with babies and young children, to enable them to get some rest.

During the home visit, the volunteers may hold the baby while the mother has a rest, play with older siblings, suggest gentle ways of settling a baby or just make a cup of tea and listen – whatever is useful. Volunteers are trained at Connect and work with Connect staff.

If you would like to find out more about volunteering or receiving this service, contact Jeanette at Connect on 47589966
