The event aims to promote community awareness of the benefits for children and family of early intervention, promote services and to provide a family-friendly community event. The event is associated with “Kites for Kids”, Early Childhood Intervention Australia’s vehicle for raising awareness about early intervention.

Types of activities that are proposed to be held at the event include:
• Information of local early intervention/children/family services
• Wheel Chair Rugby
• Live entertainment, including performances from local community groups e.g. dancing, children’s performances etc

This session our guest speaker is Joanne Bottin from Karitane and she will be discussing ways that playgroup workers can support parents when issues such as sleep/settling and managing misbehaviour come up in the playgroup environment.
