The event aims to promote community awareness of the benefits for children and family of early intervention, promote services and to provide a family-friendly community event. The event is associated with “Kites for Kids”, Early Childhood Intervention Australia’s vehicle for raising awareness about early intervention.

Types of activities that are proposed to be held at the event include:
• Information of local early intervention/children/family services
• Wheel Chair Rugby
• Live entertainment, including performances from local community groups e.g. dancing, children’s performances etc
• Kite making (relative to the Early Childhood Intervention Australia awareness theme of “Kites for Kids – The Sky’s the Limit”).

This is an opportunity for anyone involved in the facilitation of a playgroups (professionals, volunteers and parent co-ordinators) to come together to share ideas and hear from industry experts on topics relating to playgroups. This session our guest speaker is Joanne Bottin from Karitane and she will be discussing ways that playgroup workers can support parents when issues such as sleep/settling and managing misbehaviour come up in the playgroup environment.

PB for DV Client Groups. For women at risk of homelessness in the Blacktown/Hills LGAs who have experienced domestic and family violence.

A primary prevention program that addresses the issue of violence and abuse in our communities. The program is based on two themes: “We all have the right to feel safe all of the time” and “Nothing is so awful that I can’t talk to someone about it”.
26th October 2016- 30th November 2016
Runs over 6 x 2 hour sessions. These sessions do not “stand alone” and attendance is required at each. Child minding is provided but must be booked when booking into course.
