Making Step-families Work is a 1-session seminar for couples in a step-family relationship, or for those considering forming a step-family. It supports couples to explore the changes that come in forming a step-family and work towards strengthening their family relationships. The group helps each parent/partner gain a greater awareness of the opportunities and challenges in parenting the new blended family together Participants are provided with strategies for coping with difficult step family situations and new relationships. It also helps you to: Understand the importance of the couple relationship Identify parenting styles and being aware of strengths Identify communication styles Explore potential barriers to forming a new family unit.
