Parents of children with additional needs
Offering both MyTime & PlayConnect supported group.
MyTime Peer Support groups are for families of children with disabilities or chronic medical conditions 0 – 18 years of age. Parents and carers can attend with or without their children to meet others that understand the challenges of this caring role. Children that attend are engaged by a child educator in appropriate play experiences to support development, while parents can enjoy adult orientated activities led by a peer support facilitator. This may include structured topics, relaxation and recreation or strategies to help support parental wellbeing. MyTime is a government funded service and is free to eligible families. Siblings are also welcome to attend.
PlayConnect Playgroups provide play based experiences that are designed to promote early childhood development for children with autism, developmental delay or behavioural challenges. Parents can engage in play experiences with their children during sessions, taking an active role in their child's development. Programs are child led and strengths based to maximise opportunity for development in language and communications, social/emotional skills and physical wellbeing. PlayConnect is a government funded service and is free to families. Siblings are welcome to attend.
