School Readiness 2018- Family Advocacy: Let's Get started: Getting ready for School and Life

The Let’s Get Started: Getting Ready for School and Life workshop will be presented for Plumtree by Family Advocacy.
Do you have a son or daughter with disability or developmental delay who will be starting school in the next couple of years or has recently started school?
Are you interested in them going to a mainstream school - an ordinary class with children of their own age?

The Let’s Get Started - Getting Ready for School and Life workshop aims to help you start planning a positive future and looking at what is needed to achieve an inclusive education.
Learn about:
-Family Advocacy and how they can be useful to you;
-The education system;
-Inclusion- what does that mean?
-Possible supports in the school system;
-Relationship and communication with the school;
-Practical strategies, tips and ideas to assist in planning a positive future.


The School Readiness group will meet four times here at Plumtree during 2018, parents can chose to come to one or all of the sessions. Guest speakers will be invited for each of the four sessions.


PLEASE NOTE: Childcare not availble on this occasion. Please do not bring your child/children.
