Reframing Autism

The Reframing Autism Group is to help parents and carers of children with autism to shift our focus from causes and cures, to move beyond our preoccupation with interventions and therapies, and instead to embrace the unique gifts our children have to offer.

This session Guest Speaker: Lydia from the “I CAN Network”, Victoria.
Lydia is a young autistic lady just finishing her first year of University.
The I CAN Network is driving a rethink of Autism, from ‘I Can’t’ to ‘I CAN’.
I CAN Network mentors young people on the Autism Spectrum to live life with an ‘I CAN’ attitude. They bring out the ‘awe’ in AWEtism through education, advocacy and providing opportunities. They build networks across schools, universities, TAFEs, communities, businesses and governments.

Lydia is going to speak with us about her journey, and about the importance of autistic communities and networks.
